I hate instant coffee and I am always wary of anything that can be created in two minutes. Instant pudding for example, come on… what preservatives are lurking in there? That said, the Fujifilm Instax Mini 7S Intstant Film Camera is something instant that I am really excited about. I have not been able to experiment with one yet, but I am really looking forward to it. On the whole it appears to be less expensive to operate and to purchase than it’s Polaroid cousin. Major disappointment? In South Africa the Instax Mini is going for a whopping R1,800.00 almost 4 times the US price.

You can read a review of the camera here. As for me, it’s going on my Christmas list.

I wrote a little bit ago about ordering my Kelly Moore bag. Many of you have wanted to know if I like it. Well, here’s the story. After being away for yet another week, it was great to arrive home and have a package to open! I opened the box to find my bag wrapped in another bag labeled “Kelly Moore.” It felt so decadent! The truth is, when I opened the bag, my heart sank just a little. The bag seemed overwhelmingly big.

This coming from a person who is always carrying a big bag. A big diaper bag, a big tote and a big camera bag… I have no fear of big bags, but this bag seemed like a ginormous “unsafe for my gear because there are no real closures” box. I realized after I got the bag that serious closures are a big deal for me because we travel by air a lot (africa to america, america to africa is my life!). I wanted to be able to place the bag on its side and put it in the overhead compartment. If the closure is a magnet, “no can do.” Duh, should have thought of that one awhile ago.

I tried to convince myself that all of this was not true for several days. Then finally, I wrote Kelly Moore to say I would be returning the bag. I wanted to write, “but I still love you Kelly Moore.”  Then I realized it would probably not be her responding to my emotionally charged email, so I held myself back!

The next day I pick up a Crumpler 7 Million Dollar Home on SALE, and I have never looked back!

I love it. It just goes to show, you need to find your own way, figure out what is going to work for you and move forward with it! Even if it means returning something! What works for one photog may not work for you, and that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. There’s only one you. There’s only one me, and there are a whole lot of bags.  This blog post by Vera Lana is very helpful if you are in the camera bag hunt.

I am so excited. This morning I finally did it. I placed my order for this Kelly Moore bag.

Now I just have to WAIT for it to arrive.

That’s the hard part!

Thanks to Natalie Norton for introducing me to the ultimate camera bag.

At the workshop in Seattle with Natalie Norton I learned about Totally Rad Actions and I think they are worth the investment. They are a set of actions that can take your photos from blah to bliss at a moments notice. Compatible with Adobe CS2 and higher. There is even a set compatible with Lightroom. Unless you are the perfect photographer, and even if you are, adding an action or two sure is nice. Totally Rad Actions here I come!

If you are new to the world of actions, try out The Pioneers Woman’s FREE action sets to wet your appetite. I know she is also a fan of MCP Actions, which is another way to go.

And after you and your photos dance the happy dance because everything and everyone is so pretty… you might just, well, sleep like a baby. Enjoy!
